I am looking into getting into the manufacturing business of chiefly dolly and cart systems (grip equipment in general) with better price points, materials used, and efficient product features. But our team is running into a wall, we need to find an estimate of how many units we should produce per week/month/year. And I want to mention that we have the resources to produce hundreds of doorway like dollies a week.

I tried getting in contact with B&H/Adorama's new vendor teams, inquiring about how many units are typically sold in the aforementioned time periods for who we imagine our competitors would be, like Matthews grip. But have not had a single response from their new vendor teams in almost over a month! With that being said, can anyone point me in the direction of where we can find these numbers, or a response from any one else who is involved in the business?

And of course we will getting back to everyone with our prototypes, and asking for feedback in what you guys would like to see in dolly/cart/slider systems/grip equipment to better suit the needs of your filmmaking needs.

In any case, any bit of information will help.

I can share my personal opinion,

A nice ride on dolly option w decent track that would fit into the small crew shoots that happen so much these days,
would be a decent seller.
I'm not a fan of spending $4k for a doorway dolly and another $1500 for good track, then track wheels for the Doorway.
But if there's a nice option for a dolly well built under this I'd like to know.

I thought Matthews doorway dollies were just $2200.
