From what I read here:

it appears that with a new olpf and an infrared filter in front of the lens and then you can film what most lizards see.

Am I correct?

It'll be even better if RED designs an olpf for infrared filming so we will not have to buy infrared filters.

There are some complications, but IR Dragon, especially monochrome is a specialism of mine :)
Very cool!
So did you took the olpf off? Substitute it with what? Which filters you use in front of the lens? Can you share the procedure and some r3d's?
I think bw infrared on Dragon should be breathtaking! I like also to see how it can look underwater. What are the complications? Is focusing a problem? Can it be fixed with wide lenses and a great dof?

Having shot a lot of B&W infrared 35mm film many moons ago I too am excited about the new swappable OLPFs allowing this on our Dragon. Exposure & focus were both challenging then however & I have to assume would be now as well & would love some tips John...

Thank you,

Another interesting thing will be to see how the Dragon behaves in total darkness with some infrared lights.

Or underwater with infrared lights.

I can't wait to see some r3d's by anyone. I think is a fairly easy process. I used to shoot as well IR in film. Used wise can look beautiful.

Does anyone knows the infrared spectrum that the Dragon is capable of recording? Knowing that someone can order the right IR filtration.

But even if you don't know it still you can experiment with 10 different wavelengths and get it right.
