  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Thanks for the pysch eval. It is not BS when a rep processes a payment with the exact same 'misunderstanding'. My Rep is a lot more civil in discussion about it actually.

Nice one... Great attitude. But it will not serve you well by calling out those that are trying to help you. Misunderstandings happen, but you should treat those that are trying to help you better. Brent is one of the most patient people that I have ever met... Take it or leave it.
 
Look, commenting on my attitude when you do not know me or understand the situation is bit over the top. My Red Rep on the other hand is perfectly nice and was very apologetic and I really have no beef so go easy please. I think you are taking my comments as personal, when I really believe there is going to be a serious look at all this when everyone gets home. As you and Brent can surmise, I was actually making an upgrade - so I think my allegiances are pretty clear.

I agree! This is one BAD-assed MF Deal! I didn't realize THIS was the DEAL! Damn, Jarred! So Brent... NOW... I get what you were saying yesterday! I was trying to keep up with you.... so many others were talking, it was loud, I didn't hear it all... Damn dude...you're right you're Nuckin' Futs! (Indeed!) OK... I'm IN now! I think I can swing this! Damn!

Thanks, Alex, for asking. No end in sight for the upgrade package offers to go from Epic/Scarlet Dragon to Weapon as of now. All good things do come to an end, but safe to say you will have awhile.

Tarquin, I appreciate the fact you are still on board despite the communication thus far. As I mentioned before, we made some last minute calls, like extending accessories credit beyond NAB for upgraders. While it made things better for the folks upgrading, it did throw a kink in the documentation we had in place for Red reps and Red.com to go off of. So we are playing catchup to revamp the site and info for the team to compensate.

But, with that, came a lot of stuff that needed to be clarified.

At the end of the day, I hope you all can step back now that the dust is settling and see the destination made the winding journey worth it.
 
Andrew please feel free to PM me. Reading the person who posted just before you I am still under the impression that people MAY not understand this deal. There is NOT an extra 5K off the camera.

The deal is. 17500 off the 34,500. So you pay 17,000 for the camera and the accessories in the kit as shown with base expander etc... Then you have a 5K credit towards other accessories.

People keep thinking that the 5K accessory credit can be applied against the balance of 17K and that is not the case. It is still a great deal but if you thought you could somehow wrangle the camera cost down to 12K - which is the notion that was flying around for a while - that is not the story.

Brent, please include in your PDF the recent clarification that pre-NAB Scarlet Dragon owners who upgrade to Epic-X Dragon post-NAB, will get the pre-NAB Epic-X Dragon to Weapon trade-in credit ($15,500 + $5,000 accessories). Thanks!

Brent. Yes. It took a while but in the end it made sense to me:) Somebody somewhere started getting creative with the math I guess. For my work, the deal actually makes sense now becuase the camera and current package may be a bit more than I thought but the credit gets me all the bits and pieces I need like the RV Expander etc as you pointed out....

I also think you have a very 'strong' friend in Andrew above BTW. Keep him close:)

+1 on your logic, assumption, and math... Unless Red makes announcements otherwise, this is my understanding as well after 3.5 long days. I can't even begin to imagine the roller-coaster it's been for the Red team.

- The 5k accessories credit is for accessories only.
- The 5k accessories credit cannot be applied towards the overall brain w. bundled accessories upgrade cost.

Just to be clear, my BS rep told me yesterday that, without any doubt, the 5K could be applied to either the purchase price of upgrade OR additional RED kit. Today I called my same stalwart BS rep and he told me that the policy he quoted was the policy through yesterday and that the policy had changed, such that no matter what was said previously, ALL orders that get a 5K credit are ONLY for RED store credit...

Yes. That is what happened to me. But for what it is worth. I ended sticking with it as I discovered I was going to need the RedVolt expander to do decent audio. And that is 3950. And we cannot cherry pick our accessories at this juncture. So if it had stayed as a 12K deal, I still would have needed to spend 3950. Unless they would swap the base expander out for the RV version. Which would have meant a bump of 2200. Anyways this way it is 17 with free RVE and some other stuff. Versus paying 12K for camera and then a la carte costs for the other stuff.

And, yes, Andrew is my buddy and always will be! I know I speak for a lot Red folks on that!

One last question. I've seen a few posts about a trade-in incentive for people switching from Redmags to Red mini-mags. Has this been replaced by the $5K accessory credit, or is this a separate incentive / trade-in deal?
 
Totally separate deal. Simple (I hope, haha), you place an order for Red Mini- mag 512 GB cards in the quantity you want to send in of the 1.8" Redmags (64 GB or higher). Send us back those Redmags and we credit you $950 per mag. One shot deal. Credit is one for one, Redmag for Mini-mag.
