  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Inexpensive travel jib for Scarlet?

My rigged up scarlet (V-mount Battery, Wireless FF, Lightweight Mattebox and SLR Lens) weighs 20lbs. If you can mount the battery somewhere else then it's closer to 16 lbs but that would be a long lemo cable.

We just looked at a lot of jibs for our Epic and bought the Long Valley jib. You can get them a lot cheaper and you can pay a lot more, but I really think this is the best value and build (in the US) available in its price range. We got it for a European shoot we have coming up.

Another vote for the Long Valley Seven jib. Yea I could make one out of carbon fiber, but after I put my counterweights on it, its just going to be heavy again. So at the moment, the Seven Jib is my friend. I did manufacture a special case for it which fits it nice and snug with no wasted space. That helps to cut down on the weight, and it has roller wheels too.

what do you guys think about the new cinevate jib?

Jason, would you post a photo of your case or pm me a description?
Thanks

jib

The "7 jib" by long valley. It sets up very fast, easy, good price. The Porta jib Traveler, is a pain by comparison.
