Hi Guys,

I just saw this for the first time today. It looks like it's single channel input but for $45, it might be perfect for certain jobs...

The ones I got were 7.95 each. I will test and let you know if they are good enough when I get my EPIC in a week or so. Fingers and toes and everthing else crossed. (hope it comes with enough aks to test at least)

Perfect. I've been dropping hints that they should do this for a while now. this should keep a lot of people out of trouble. And it's right in line with the cost of the Mogami cables. You can find cheaper, but I'm sure these are excellent quality, and you can count on compatibility.

Just what I was looking for...

Now all I need is cool solid little self powered mic.

Agreed. We'll find one... Especially since we might not have phantom power for a while.

Bought two. Will test with my Sennheiser M66 mic when it arrives.

:))

$45 seems quite a lot. What's the difference between Red's cable and this one which costs £1.49
Aren't these fairly standard cables?

I kind of wished I had known about the cinema oxide cable before I ordered the RED audio cable. It costs $20 less and looks pretty much identical. I'll probably buy a cinema oxide cable as a back-up and then compare the two. I'll report any differences I notice.

Note that I believe that pro audio suppliers like Coffey Sound and LSC in LA, Trew Audio in Nashville, and Gotham Sound in NYC are offering similar Epic XLR adapter cables for about $25 or so. A 20" length of cable with a Neutrik XLR on one end and an 1/8" right-angled TRS is not a big deal to create, even assuming extremely good-quality cable (which would be about $2); plugs are about $3 each. $8 worth of parts, ten minutes of labor.

I agree with previous comments that the Hosa cables are pretty cheap and crappy, and they wouldn't be my first choice.

I'd like to see somebody make a dual cable with two 1/8" TRS plugs on one end and two female XLRs on the other end, with a single rubber outer shrink layer, just to handle 2 channels. This is doable and would be worth $50.

Wait... what? The Epic Doesn't Provide Phantom Power yet? Really? Well, so much for those $1000.00 mics I just planned to rent. Pre-Amp Time I guess?? Now, where did I put that Rolls PB224 Phantom Power box???
