Hi out there
i want to share an independent film project, shot on 4 epics and 1 red one in istanbul
the film is not wrapped yet, but i think enough stuff to tell something how all the cameras worked
we hope to shoot the rest of the film soon, we are struggling some production issues right now.
first, here is a kind of "teaser", it´s more an internal demo footage reel of parts - not graded in final steps, lots of proxy stuff - so as everyone knows here, final Raw grading will be better of course and will have a image grading and look all over.
Audio and all VFX are simply in preview ... working title is "dead or alive"

the movie has some bloody scenes, so take off the weak of your viewers ;-)
and here some stills graded from raw and backstage stuff

we shot 4 weeks, 2x Epic M, 2x Epic X, 1x Red One MX, using Red Primes as main lense, supported by one X with Canon Mount and lenses, some highspeeds, and the brandnew, great Zeiss 17-200 compact zoom.
as this is a independent movie, the budget was fixed and we tried the best to get cinematic images, some parts need to be pushed later, but we test the Raw and with some De-Noiser we are happy even with the underexposed stuff.
Epics worked well, no problems at all. No issues. Nothing.
I am DOP on this film, and my favourite set up is and was the Epic with Canon Mount and Redvolts. it´s the most creative tool for filmmakers right now: you are fast, moveable, and many many shots wouldn´t be there without this small setup.
The size of Epic, still, is the big deal for me in comparison to other cameras. You can just concentrate on making the film, it´s just working with a photo device. Run and shoot 5K Raw.
Istanbul is such a great place, lovely people - i hope to shoot the rest of the movie with my M and ... Dragon inside ... Red !!! :w00t: Anyone ?! :bigear:
CHEERS!
Edit: you may hear some hard music cuts, i deleted 2-3 shots for the youtube platform because they were too graphic, better audio track will come ;-)
