Hi All
I have been here for a long time . . . but I rarely post. In this year of everything Epic and Scarlet, i thought I'd give a little shout out to a true "Battle Tested" RED ONE: #101, the first production camera delivered in January 2008.
I just returned to Los Angeles from Vancouver after the second of 2 major commercial campaigns for Mattel in 2012. During the two trips I shot 38 commercials over a 70 day period . . . all on #101. Here are some of the details:
700+ hours of running time. Camera was on all day every day.
9 Terabytes of information captured at 4K, 3K, 2K at 23.98 & 29.97
325 Roll Changes, all shot on 320 Gig Hard Drives
675 individual set ups
FPS: 15, 24, 30, 48, 60, 96, 120
Shutter: 45, 90, 180, 360
Lenses: Zeiss 14, 16, 24, 32, 40 50, 85, 135, Arri 100 Macro, Angenieux 25-250 HR, Innovision Probe: 12, 20, 28, 32, 55
ISO: 500, 800, 1600, 2000
ZERO DROPPED FRAMES
ZERO Unintentional Camera Shut downs
ZERO "RED Moments"

#101 performed flawlessly. The images were all amazing. I was truly stunned, expecially on one scene when using ISO of 1600, 360 Shutter, 2.0 lesn setting, 15 FPS and looking at an image by eye that seemed impossible to render . . .and yet on the monitor the image was brilliant. The MX sensor is unbelievable. I shot film for over 30 years and I could not have captured this particular scene on film!
I just want to tip my hat to Jim, Jarred, and all the gang at RED (with a special acknowledgement to Element Technica . . . they made this camera a true professional tool)

RED ONE was . . . and still is THE GAME CHANGER

Patrick, this is great to hear and proof of how great the RED ONE was and still is.

If I hadn't grabbed the SCARLET, I would have so jumped aboard on the BT RED ONE. It's one hell of a camera. Thanks for letting us in on your journey with #101!
