Does anyone have a clue what the IMS mount for the RED will or does cost?

Taken from an emial i got from P&S Technik:

Prices and delivery time
The costs for the parts and the integration of the P+S Technik IMS camera front onto the
RED One will be 1.500,00 Euro including all necessary, high quality mechanical components
and working hours of our qualified service technicians. The IMS camera front for the RED
One can be ordered under the article number # 24209.

The customer has to pay the costs for shipping as well as shipping insurance.
The P+S Technik IMS camera front will be available from June 2008. For orders please
contact P+S Technik sales department info@pstechnik.de. Modifications by appointment can
take from 3 to 7 days plus shipping time.

RED One manufacturer warranty
P+S TECHNIK is starting a dialogue with RED about a possible cooperation regarding the
P+S Technik IMS camera front for the RED One.

Important notice
P+S Technik is only modifying RED One cameras which has been tested by the owner. We
do not accept new cameras that have not been checked by the owner. Nevertheless P+S
Technik does not assume liability for any electronic difficulties, which occur before, during or
after the modification of the camera.

hmm.. at that price id rather wait for a canon mount then get a contax adapter. besides which, RED might reject it when returning for credit for the epic. ?

Thats my concern too, i´d rather struggle a bit for a year with the original mount (which shouldn´t be that bad at all) and have the option to trade in for an Epic Camera

i remember they lowered the price or want to, because they want to change how the mount swap takes place...more like swap the mount by yourself and
pay around 800 €...best would be to contact them.

I ordered the set last week, 680 euros for the ims mount, 205 for the PL mount and 480 for the professional Nikon F mount (which does not have the play like the normal mount has. All other mounts are in the range of 250-300 euros each, so a good deal.(Anyone interested in my surplus RED-nikon Mount ? I will sell it as soon as the IMS arrives (half july). Only some test images shot)

Thanks Mick.

Very good news.

I declare Sanjin the most jovial fellow of the season!

I want this.

No doubt, this is great news.

Thanks Sanjin for taking a bullet for the team and pushing this forward for the community. I know you paid a price for that zeal.

I just want to see some noctilux shots of Vienna at dusk, can you make that happen as well Sanjin. ;-) Then maybe a group buy on Noctilux... (joking of course).

IMS is shipping in about two weeks and I will try to get Noctilux for a test but cannot promise 100%.

Alternative for that test should be

Leica Summilux-R 50mm f 1.0

or

Vöigtlander-M 35mm f1.2 VM Nokton.

Sanjin, does the adjustable Backfocus still work with the IMS mount?
Thanks!
Marc

I cannot say anything now and in about two-three weeks all should be clear and open to discussion.

Wow, that happened quickly. It looks by my numbers (going off their website) that one could have the IMS mount with adapters for PL, Nikon, Canon EF, and Leica for about $2500.

And it seems there will be no warranty issues, correct?

PL as a basic plus one or two still lens mounts of choice (Professional Nikon F, Leica R or M, Zeiss/Contax, dumb Canon EF carry the most of 20$ adapters, also Canon FD is attractive vintage lens set,... all it's up to end user/production need),

Mayby it will be possible to adapt the RED PL mount with some extra bit so it will work on the IMS unit. Might be cheaper then having to buy a whole seperate PL mount.
