IMS Camera Mount for RED One

The P+S Technik IMS Mount for RED One is available for purchase.
The final design of the IMS Mount for RED One is an IMS Mount that
can be attached to the RED One WITHOUT modification of the camera
or any parts of it - only the original mount is exchanged with the IMS mount.
After calibration of the new setup, the unit is ready to shoot!

MORE DETAILS>>>

Amazing, finally is finished and I'm waiting for mine.

Even more:

The Interchangeable Mount System will allow you to use:

- all available IMS Mounts from P+S Technik,
- optical viewfinder with B4 mount (coming soon)
- optical viewfinder with PL mount (coming end of this year)
- Field Collimator (coming end of this year)

All means that RED ONE Digital Cine Camera in a package with IMS mount and
the best still photo lenses is going to be very competitive cine acquisition system on the market.

Hey Sanjin,

Mike, lucky you.

Wish you the best.

My wish would be a little "footy" or at least a screenshot report about Panavision Primo lenses on RED.

According to the website: "The work can be done by any technical trained technician."

Uhm...

warranty

warranty

The same issue which Birger has concerning warranty seam to be true for the P+S IMS Camera Mount.

I'm gonna wait until everybody who knows is in the room together looking at the thing before I let that be true.

How much is the P+S set-up, with only two mounts (PL and BNCR)?

Thanks.

it´s a one time 1.500.- EUR charge for the conversion on the camera including the PL Mount, any additional mount is arround 300 - 400 EUR as far as i can remeber.

So is this something we'll have to send in to P+S Technik to have installed? Seems like there are too many unknowns here. Especially if Red tells us that it voids the warranty .

from the website:

The simplicity of this exchange makes the shipping the RED One to P+S Technik unnecessary. It can be done by everybody with a technical basic understanding.

also:
We are happy to inform you about the latest news regarding our Interchangeable Mount System (IMS) for RED One. To implement the IMS on the RED One is much easier than expected in the beginning. The replacement of the whole RED front is not needed anymore. Due the fact that only the original RED mount needs to be replaced by
the P+S Technik IMS, no warranty limitations will be damaged. If needed the IMS can also be re-exchanged to the original RED One mount. The thermically characteristics of the RED One front will stay the same after this IMS modification

that's what it says on the website as of right now anyways.

I'm sure RED will have IMS as a first "customer" to test it.

Then they should tell us (hope soon) what is going on with warranty like with a similar 3rd party products (Birger EF mount).

The new price is 680 Euros for the IMS mount alone.

Added later: This was the price they gave me by request, since I couldn't find it on their site.

680 euros is $1,071!

I think it's a bit too expensive for just a base mount. You then have to add the particular mounts that you want. For example, the BNCR mount is 371 euros, that means $585.

So, just to have one mount in the end, you need to spend in excess of $1,600. Add a second mount to that - to have the benefits of an interchangeable mount - and you'll spend about $2,000.

Could be worth it, though, for who can afford it... especially if the warranty is not affected.

i dont see where it sais on the shop page that its 680 euros.
it seems like they changed the cover of the red mount plate. cause that does void the warranty.
extra mounts seem to be for 236-350-1000 euros

Thanks Sanjin!
I will checkout the whole thing on monday.
Just a little question: do you know the delivery expectation? Are the mounts ready to ship?

I think IMS seems very reasonably priced, compared to the general overpricedness of other P+S Technik products. For instance their Pro35 is $27,000. That's just a 35mm adapter for broadcast cameras.
