Hey All,

Getting finances in order for when my Raven ships and just wondering if anyone has order one from RED directly into Canada, and how badly were they hit with import duties?

Any suggestions on how to minimize these?

Cheers,

Jorden .. I believe that the camera is a "Category 5" item. There is no Duty but you do have to pay the HST. There will be brokerage fees with who ever the courier is that clears it through customs for you. I am not an expert and I can't recall whenI first purchased my Red… I since then lived in Chicago for a while and was able to facilitate my upgrades from there.

Jorden .. I just took a look though my files and i didn't have anything to support my claim but I did have the number for the Canadian Border Information Service. They can answer your questions specifically. But I am fairly confident that there is no duty. Just the HST on the Canadian value (exchange) and the brokerage fee which you will have to take up with the courier.

Hey Jorden, I just got invoiced for mine through Fusion Cine and I had to pay HST and PST, I think combined it's around 1500 cnd.

Awesome! thanks for the replies guys!

I'll give Border services a call just to confirm on the import duties. I figured i'd be stuck with the HST either way.

Graeme, how long did it take to get allocated through Fusion Cine?

I paid HST on my Scarlet-W, but don't recall paying duty. Wasn't fun either way. lol
