when i try to batch-import the ALE file to AVID sometimes all the files are selected at once and other times aren't.
What i really want is to select all the files at once. Please i would like as soon as possible to solve the problem

You are not clear on what you are trying to do. You don't batch import ALE files via the Batch import menu - you do a drag and drop or a file import. Once the ALE is imported, you select all the events, then do a batch import of your QT files or whatever files you are trying to import.

because i have many scenes in the ALE -through redrushes-i want to batch-import them altogether and not one by one. When i batch-import the ALE file, AVID is asking me the file destination. When i give it i have offline the files. When i press the batch-import button sometimes it selects all the offline ( which what i want) and other times i have to select the files one by one which takes a lot of time and it is also dangerous.
Why AVID causes this certain problem?

I don't know if it's an Avid thing or an organizational thing. Show the column for media offline. Sort on that column, then select the events that you still need to batch import. Or when selecting all, and batch importing, select "offline only". Or manage your scenes for import into their own bin and once imported move them to where you want them.

Hello, It happen to me as well. When in your batch import your proxies are of different resolution the batch import does not recognize all the files and it will select one file at a time. How did you create your ALE? You selected all the R3D file used in your film, then created an ALE then new proxies? What I did is check the procedure again, create the proxies and the ALE in the same new folder, then in Avid create a new bin, imported the ALE then batch import at the resolution from Redrush, (DNX 185). Check in the batch import the resolution and the disk of destination.

thanks a lot guys i will try again the way you suggested and i'll let you know

the "_H" problem

the "_H" problem

I had a similar problem with the batch import in avid. I observed that the ale file created by RedRush, was putting me a _H at the end of the file.

So, my quick time file encoded in REDRUSH was

A043_C001_051667.mov

and in avid after importing the ale i had the name

A043_C001_051667_H

So when i was trying to batch import all files, it weren't imported automat. I had set location for every single shot.

So I entered in the textedit application, i opened the ale file, search _H, and than replace with nothing. So textedit was deleting all my _H letters. Than save, import and it is working.

Do you know what's about _H?
Why does it appear?

I think it's an option in RR, I don't have my Mac up at the moment, so I can't tell you the exact menu. It's in the same location as the option to create MC compatible audio. I think it's the "create proxies" option. I'll try and spin RR up later tonight and let you know if that's it, If you haven't tried it by then. Until then, I'm off to the beach for a barbeque.

Yap, you are wright.
I think that was the problem. Thanks.

Have fun on the beach. Tomorrow morning I am going also to the beach, but I'm a vegetarian :) .
