Do any monitors feature an overlay ability for shot matching in camera.

How do people normally accomplish this if it required. I do it from time to time, and have some shots storyboarded that I want exact matching.

I have begged RED to incorporate this into Scarlet but Jared has stated that it will only be in the Epic (mucho disappointing for me...he sighs)

Any thoughts?

That's exactly what I would love to know. Going to do a project with a lot of mirroring split screen effects and would really love to overlay the Reds picture with earlier shot or prepared footage on the same monitor

There are scaler chips that allow for that. You can dissolve as well and control the opacity of the graphics and/or video. I'm working now on a display with this option. how big of a screen do you think? onboard? desktop size?
If there are enough interested I may speed up the development-right now this is on a back burner...

Well, Jacek I would definitely be interested.

I would ideally like a 7-9" 720p that would give enough of a heads up for shot matching in the wild.

We're going to just have to use plastic film, magic markers, and a little drawing skill. Hardly ideal, but it works.

Please do it. I've been looking for something like this for a couple years. There are so many applications for this feature.
It'd be great to have multiple sizes. I use both the 8.9" Panasonic LCD and the 26".
Also, it'd be great to be able to offload screen grabs to a usb thumb drive... right out of the camera and then later that week when you're doing reshoots to be able to load those screen grabs into the monitor and compare them with the live HD-SDI feed.
