iMac and External PCI for Rocket

Hey guys, sick of having to drag my tower with me.. Can anyone tell me the best configuration of an iMac and enclosed for the Red rocket card via thunderbolt?

also are the speeds of transcoding any different?

I am sitting here in an RV in Gruyeres, Switzerland blowing through RED footage an my 27" iMac and M-Logic Thunderbolt enclosure. I don't have anything to compare to so I can't tell you if the transcoding speeds are any different, unfortunately.

Transferring data is most likely going to be capped by how fast your destination drive is. Thunderbolt is capable of way faster speeds than any drive I've ever used. The 8TB G-RAIDS I'm using right now are 300MB/s and Thunderbolt easily handles that.
