Ha ha, I do not think that will happen Eric, those are RED's collection inside Stage 4 at Red Studios Hollywood, Jarred placed M8 there when I went to meet him to borrow a Dragon, and took a quick pic for me as to remember that moment.

...OK, so I am stupid. Thanks.

No, Patrick, you are not, it does not say serial number only has a #, so it could have been something else... ;)

I see a 2/3rd scarlet in that pic….

Indeed you do Jon, that was one of the very rare few Fixed Scarlet, which I had the great pleasure to test out in it's prototype version, still love it, and still look forward a possible future were we see it coming back some how... ;)

Ketch, do you know more? Hehe... For your own safety, don't answer that question at all. ;)

I'm too still not really over that one. I mean, i love my Scarlet-X and i was (and will be) a big defender of RED's decision back then, but the fixed Scarlet was what brought me here and what i was waiting (and saving money for) for years... So it has a place in my heart (and on a shirt, which my brother did for me, because i was talking about RED too much). I still think i missed something by not having the chance to shoot with it.

Don't get me wrong. Scarlet-X's announcement was mind-blowing and way more than i asked for, it also has been a great experience since then, but this fixed Scarlet was my dream for too long, killing it still hurts a bit. ;)

I remember seeing a picture of quite a few on Jarred's facebook-profile called "army of scarlets" or something like that. What ever happened to those? I would love to get my hands on one. Well, one day... :)

Not sure if there is not another serial nr wich is not #00008 but also on the bottom where you attach the tripod. I was with #2013 and the custom didn t accept it as sr nr...

Ha ha, don't worry Maik, I would never answer anything I can't, as I sure won't want to get in to that "Black list" and a picture on the wall of the Security office at RSH's gate... :)

But unfortunately there has been just silence on that front, and what is a hope of a return of a similar camera from RED is just that at the moment, a hope, as I absolutely loved the fill and overall structure of having such one in all camera.

Those Scarlet you are talking about were all Scarlet X yes, and were all sold as BT Scarlets as Shane pointed out, this were of course Scarlet X, nothing to do with the Fixed Scarlet.

The other serial # is an internal one, that which appears in your log files and in your metadata, you can look it up in your R3D's, but this might not always the same as the one stamped on the camera body itself.

Then lets hope together. :)

That was a different picture, what i had in mind was way before that and before the fixed was cancelled.

I found a (re-)post on redmodz,:

Ok, i count 7, probably a few more on the left side... ;)

Yeah those referred as Army of Fixed Scarlets, were all prototypes destined to trials, that which we and in San Francisco as the least stop of my American Tour in 2011 with M8, was one of them, and that was right before NAB 2011.

We'll see what the future holds, but if I know anything and learned anything about Jim and Jarred, is that they do not take NO for an answer, and they will some how come back with a Fix camera soon or later, and I'll be one of their first customers when that happens.

Lol ha ha, where can I pick up an extra large xxl

I'll sell you one in March if you want!

I for one was glad to see the scarlet fix morph into a body only. So much more latitude being able to change lenses. 4k kicks 3k's ass.
