  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Last I checked it's not out yet. There was a bunch of grumbling when it was announced at 1.33, and I sincerely hope that they reconsidered 2x. If not I may try to stuff my foton A front on there with a coupled gear system ;-)

Funny you say that. On rainy days, I've tried to imagine making such a thing. It's totally possible but the biggest issue is being able to get your spherical taking lens close enough to the anamorphic element. For cinema lenses, which are ideal to use with their exact focus mechanics, it would be hard. Many cinema housings have the front element too far back in the larger housing. Wide lenses aren't bad though because typically it's a very shallow front.

heres a 50 wide open 1.3 no diopter no filter these lens are great! How can i tell if my set is mark i or mark ii?

What are the 1st 2 digits of the serial numbers? Nevermind, they say MK-II on them if they are MK-II ;-)

I think they all cover 6k WS, I think the 18 and the 25 vignette a little in the corners at FF 6k. I'd have to go check and I'm in VT for the next couple of days. Honestly, for commercials and such I can see shooting 6k, but the whole thing with 5k dragon being covered by all your normal lenses, and the giant boost in data for 6k, I shoot 5k for 99% of everything I shoot.
