Luma Tech, Inc., sole worldwide distributor of the S35mm Illumina lenses is holding an open house and lens technician training seminar
May 16-22 in Hollywood, Florida. The new MK2 Illuminas will be available, along with the 135mm lens for hands on viewing. There will be
a lens projector and other lenses to test them against. Several cameras will also be available for the tests such as the RED EPIC.

The chief designer of LOMO, manufacturer of the Illuminas will be leading the training seminar and be available for the tests and all
questions. Gregory Mirand, owner of Luma Tech will also e in attendance.

Hollywood, Florida is 35 minutes from Miami Int'l Airport and 10 minutes from Ft. Lauderdale Int'l airport.

Please RSVP.

Please give us an update as this moves forward. I wish I could go and see them. Hope we get some feedback.

I sure am glad I don't shoot charts for a living, that job sucks ;-) My Ekran speeds handled CA better than S4s on a projector. It's the imperfections in glass that I like, so not being technically perfect isn't exactly a deal breaker. I would love to meet Mr. Lomo. Sorry I can't make it.

I just participated in the Luma Tech Lens Training seminar in Miami. I am the Owner of a rental house in Vienna. www.digirentalwien.at . We bought one set and we are ordering another set. Therefore it was good to know something about the inside of the lenses. Also we are a reseller. Our opinion is that for the money you pay you get a lot of value back. Have a look at clips at vimeo by Bernhard Roschitz. (http://vimeo.com/user11320401) There you will find some films done with the Illuminas S35 and the great PS cam x35. A good combination because of the speed of the lenses under 1.3 with the speed of the Camera 450 fps.

Can anyone reccomend a good shop to service Lomos in the US? Last time I asked, Duclos doesn't service Lomos anymore.

I am reluctant to send my glass back to Russia for service.

I know our optical technicians have worked on Lomos in the past. Give our Services Dept. a try.

There is also Slow Motion Inc who services Lomo lenses:
http://slowmotioninc.com/Slow_Motion/SERVICE.html

"Our lens department services any of the following lenses: Elite, Cooke, Zeiss, Angenieux, Lomo, and Canon.

Most front and rear elements we have available in stock.

Service includes reconditioning, adjustments, mechanical issues, element replacement, re-lubrication, and cleaning." - Slow Motion Inc.

Has anyone used SlowMotion Inc.? Last I checked, they sent lenses overseas to be serviced.

I've only rented from them but know they do service. Would seem odd that they would send them oversees. Kind of defeats the purpose of in house servicing.

From the site:
" Our service department is confident in the quality of services we provide and offer the following:

•A full warranty on parts and labor for 100 days.
•Free equipment evaluation and free estimate with repair.
• Original factory parts, if available, are always used.
• Fast turn-around.
•Free express pick up and delivery available.
(Call for details)
• Express shipping available.
•On-call technicians available to make in-studio
evaluations, repairs or adjustments. "

If they have local on-call tech's that would lead me to believe they do repairs and servicing in house.
