How can you tell what build was used to shoot it?

If it was shot by me, I can tell both by dates and how that corresponds to footage. I have also, since the build 16 beta testing days, made it a point to note firmware build number on the slate and in production logs.

You can also right-click on a clip in your REDCINE-X bin and choose Metadata. It tells you the firmware build, scroll down to the bottom of the metadata list...

Clipfinder will when enabled in the preferences display a sortable column showing what firmware that footage was shot with.
