  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

If the industry doesn't get RAW workflow by now, they will never see the light

After playing around with the new RCX Pro Build 5, I must say, the new Alchemy slider is the shit.

Why?

Stretching out the gamma curve to the full spectrum.

Enhancing the clarity of the image without having over-sharpened edges

Softening the skin of talent in a single shot (which may even work for softening some rough noisy areas)

I've only played around with the new build for an hour now, but it really has got me to thinking about how great REDCODE raw is...

I use Alchemy on every shot. 35-50%.

When I've used the After Effects version of Alchemy (CC Calculations), I usually bump it up to 100% if my exposure is rocking it pretty well. If not, I'll bring it down to 50 and use a curves adjustment for final touches.

Alchemy is exactly what I wanted it to be. Most of my rendering time is because of CC Calculations taking so damn long doing the same thing. I feel I'm making up that time in RCX-Pro since I can now do it all in the same session.

Thank you for saving my time in post so I have more time to go shoot.

Easy to do on a still photo . . . but at 300FPS or 5K . . . that's f-ing genius
