  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

If I will buy RED ONE now I will get M or MX sensor?

Could you tell me please if I will buy RED ONE now will I get this camera with old M-sensor or new MX-sensor? And if old M-sensor how can I upgrade it to MX sensor and can I upgrade it in the moment of buying? For example I will go to the office RED and ask them to sell me the RED ONE with new MX-sensor?

I think it is pretty well known that you can order a RED ONE now and get it fairly quickly. It will NOT, however, come with an MX sensor. To upgrade, you basically have to get to the back of the line behind all current RED ONE owners who are waiting to upgrade.

Based on Jim's statement, you may be able to arrange for the upgrade at the time of your initial purchase. BUT, everywhere else on this board, as well as in a conversation I had with Jarred, it has been made clear that new RED ONEs initially come with the M sensor. If you want to upgrade, you can, but you have to wait in line behind all previous ONE buyers. Not sure what you think, but, to me, that seems like the most fair way to do it, too.
