Hello

at work we have IDX batteries and Sony BPL batteries, both compatible with V mount.
We have 6 REDVOLTS, but we like to have some Vmount solutions for our Scarlet as well.

I already went trough a lot of threads here, but I'm confused about which plates and this and that you need for which solution.

The RED Store is sometimes a bit confusing as well. I don't want to buy a 600 dollar plate that I don't need to put batteries on, but I don't want to forget things. It seems often, you need a combination of plates and it's not very clear to me what you need.

Can people provide some advice on which solutions exist to make our batteries work with our Scarlet?
Any help is very much appreciated.

Kind regards,

wooden camera and viewfactor both make excellent read-for-scarlet plates. Plug-and-play. You can cobble up your own, but need to find/wire up a LEMO (power) connector, and even then you are getting close to these in price.

Hello Mat,

I am sure that you have seen the name w o o d e n c a m e r a listed in these forums many times over in relation to battery plates and such. If not, then I suggest that you contact them with any questions you may have regarding what you need for your rig. They are extremely helpful, responsive, and make high quality products (in my opinion). I only suggest this because I have their V mount battery plate mounted on my Scarlet and it has worked flawlessly thus far. Granted, there are many solutions out there worth checking into, but this is my 2¢!

Hope I helped some . . .

MG1concepts has a Scarlet V-Mount Standard Plate for $399 (the Pro version is 499, I think) and it comes with everything you need. Bare in mind that it locks in place via gravity, so if you're running and gunning like crazy, it might not be the best option. But so far it seems to be the most affordable (unless you go with RED's own Battery Belt for $325, which also comes with everything you need, but you have to attach it somewhere other than the camera.)

Thanks for the responses, I'll check them out.
Marie, I know about the company, the good user reviews, and the trouble they have currently with RED so I didn't know how long their material would be supported in the future.
I'll check out all the options mentioned, Thanks again.
Much appreciated,
