  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

you're the genius who started a thread telling "the idiots" not to read this thread, while specifically addressing those exact same "idiots" in your original post. the mind boggles.

At a $3,000 price point, no one has the right to complain, especially about silly stuff, such as wanting Nikon lens mounts. But even cheapy SD consumer cameras have AF and OIS, so I don't sse some requests as disrespectful, eventhough AF might break the bank of a small start up company that develops AF from scratch.

For a whole year all we had to go on was "pocket" and "professional."

We wrongly assumed that it would have to have a C-mount to be professional. We also assumed that it would have to fit in your pocket to be a pocket camera. So we all look like asses. So much for speculation. We all thought it would be 2K. No one is bitching about that.

There is lots of bitching about the lens. I like the lens. It keeps dust and humidity out. :)

Jim and the Red team told us not to call it a Red Mini, but that is what it looks like to me, especially the way they have the bulky accessories attatched to it. It looks just like a mini Red One, and there is no way it will fit in any pocket of any size with all those accessories attatched.

Is it really a pro pocket cam? No. Is it a mini Red? Yes. Will I buy one? Yes. Were we deceived? Maybe. Are Soccer moms going to buy it and edit using FCP? Hell no. Maybe that is why Apple scrapped the old iMovie and came up with a whole new iMovie, just so soccer moms could use Scarlet w/ thier iMac.
 
Yeah, that's what happens with anticipation and very little info. It happens every year on the Mac forums just before MacWorld. Huge amounts of speculation (and raised hopes) only to result in disappointment when some rumored product is not announced or it turns out not to be what was speculated.

When you post to do nothing other than to get into personal disputes, you will be banned without warning from here on out. No more. Show some freaking respect for one another. Those days of that kind of crap on this forum are over.
