  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Ideal frame rate + shutter speed for aerials

A follow up to this - I recently watched the actual packaged DVD and something definitely went wrong in the duplication process. Trying to get to the bottom of it now - although there is no fixing it at this point - it is already "out there".

There is a crazy "jutter" that has somehow been introduced at the duplication stage. This is not an artifact of RED. The stuttering motion does not occur in the Quicktime and the HDCAM.

I thought you were being hypercritical of some of the mild vibration Shooter, but now I see in the actual DVD what you were really talking about.

Man - do you have to micromanage the process right until it is about to put in to your DVD player?:head_explode:

Helicopter shooting

Helicopter shooting

I appreciate everyone's suggestions at reduser for helicopter shooting. We are planning on shooting a 15 minute flight and attempting to compress the footage down to a 15 second spot with a ramp at front and back. We will be using a Tyler mount system with Gyro we have a nose mount as well as a side mount. We are looking for that smooth as glass, no stutter, no blur look that Steve described in an earlier post. If you have any suggestions for 4k, I am all ears.

This is a great specialty thread and I like to than everybody who is contributing. Many of the tips here are, of course, related to any moving camera platform. Cars, boats body mounts, roller coasters etc. I have some testing of my own to do soon!
