I've just seen the Epic price reduction warning from Jim. Whilst we don't know the exact % the reduction will be, it sounds like it'll be substantial ($$). Now, I don't have an Epic but have access to one. The DP with it isn't too concerned about the price reduction, as he says the $38K price was the 2012 price anyway.
However, as there will be a lot of people that panic or feel they've lost out (this year's buyers) I had an idea. It might be a bad one, but, here goes:
For a limited time, could be 1 week or 1 month, drop all accessories by the value of the price reduction in the Epic body. So, a 20% reduction gets a 20% reduction on an accessory.
Make it available to Epic owners only that fall within the given goalposts set by RED and, as I say, limited time on the deal.
Maybe even limit the numbers of items that can be purchased in the 'Special Epic Owners Sale' (to reduce profiteering) - or manage the reduction as a special credit on certain items.
This way, anyone that feels stressed can pay more $$ and get accessories that are reduced by the same % as the brain.
RED win by keeping any unhappy people (there'll be a few, no doubt!) onside with a special deal whilst new owners get the brain at the reduced cost.
Seems like a good idea?
Might be crazy, but RED is sort of known for these type of things. :yesnod:
