Aja KiPro Mini workflow explained.

Editing off a CF card, "simple"! Yeah, a simple recipe for disaster...

Seriously, how safe is that?

Too bad it seems Vegas 10 doesn't CUDA-accelerate decoding, seems like only rendering... pretty useless IMO. 0.02

I wuv Vegas, I wish pulled into the lead.

I'm really excited about the Ki Pro Mini I will be purchasing one as soon as its available.

And Sony has done so well well with their XDCAM camcorders the PDW & PMW series.

Ki Pro Mini = $ 1.995. Sold.

I think the point is not to edit off a CF card, but to use the CF card to quickly and easily transfer the files from the CF card to the internal drive/external(esata/FW800) drive for editing in FCP.

The attached diagram above implies direct editing from CF card - maybe not a safe workflow for drama and other programme genres, but definitely one possibly used in fast turnround news gathering. Horses for courses ...

Yes, that is what it implies. I'm not sure I'd want to be editing from a CF card even with the tightest of deadlines. It looks like an accident waiting to happen...

Has anyone found some video coverage of IBC?

I find it a bit lazy that a event made for video stuff, dosnt have a massive video representation abroad.

Heck E3 had way more webcast and coverage than: NAB, IBC, Siegraph combined. Or am I looking in the wrong places?

im sorry am i missing something.
isnt all this pointless unless you can take timecode from the RED via HDSDI and input it into the KI?
or would you need lock-it boxes to make post re-linking easier?
