A sustainable future, and I'm sorry for the click bait title but even if you are not into helping SETI, Berkeley has some very important things we can help by volunteering our unused computing hours. Half of us here have super computers, we can make significant progress on HIV, Cancer, near earth objects, mapping the universe, finding alien life, and literally all you need to do is listen to me and give back this holiday by downloading an application and assigning causes you hold true to your heart to run while you sleep. Past six months I have ran 600,000 actions off a shitty two year old retina macbook pro! It hasn't changed my electricity costs at all, and God willing any of the half dozen I am working on really make progress its time damn well spent!
We all will get sick some day, an asteroid will come some day too, but instead of giving up and tuning out I am asking you all to take concrete steps to fight back against such inevitabilities.
