  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I think I am in love... (alpha 1). Thanks!

Still just testing here, mostly workflow stuff, but this cam is INCREDIBLE!!!

A bit more serious, this time, though...
But focus is on workflow

10 bits dpx from 1st light in RedCine
CC DPX in Color
Make that work!
That's where the main focus is.

Ians Crimson is halfway making that work. He is the KING! (that is, if Jim and Graeme are Lords...) Looking around the net for stuff to fill in the gaps makes stuff even more workable.

Subjects - still non talkative subjects, but @ least they are alive and playing in the snow - thus some DR things to consider.

I start to understand how completely noisefree this cam can be...

There are definitely some oddities and web-compression artefacts in here. Bare with me. Consider this alpha1. I still think this is pretty fun.

Shot @ 4k 25 and 2k 112 with 22mm lomo

Shutter is mainly 120 as I haven't got my mattebox and filters yet. (alpha, remember...)

Over the next days I'll be doing a lot of different tests...

This cam rocks seriously!!!

Thanks Jim @ co!

Really reminds me of that great early HVX200 clip called "Wolves". Of course that was only 60 fps at 720p....

I love these clips! I'm a sucker for dogs generally, German Shepherds in particular. But German Shepherds filmed by a RED in snow . . . words don't suffice.:-) Beautiful shots.

Maybe my favorite clips thus far Gunleik - thank you. Something there is about the subject... but the shots are as beautiful as the dogs and that's saying a lot. The detail in their coats, the snow, the birch... Sheeesh. The markings on the darker are exquisite. This is reason enough to keep on living. Thanks again.

I just like the fact that you are happy...

BOW - (M---ther F-King) - WOW!

Congrats Gunleik! That 22mm had been on my list... :) and now it's in your hands, good hands anyway! :-)

Thanks guys. I am very happy and gratefull for your remarks!

I'll be doing a lot of tests the next week. Cityskapes more outdoor stuff and studio shoots. But I can say already that

I just like the fact that you are happy...

Jim

THANKS to you and your team Jim and spot on!
I am more than happy!

I'll be demoing stuff for a lot of people and companies the next weeks (as soon as I've gone through my own workflow tests, where the dogs was actually my first couple of minutes of real shooting with the RED...) I KNOW this cam can take fantastic images, so workflow is where I am focusing. I'll definitely not DP everything myself or alone, but I do totally subscribe to Steves point about it being possible in some situations to go out as a one man band and bring back usefull stuff.

This cam fills so many workflows and needs that it makes me totally dizzy.

I think I've seen some big workflow light, but I'll wait posting about it untill I have run the cam though all the tests I've planned.

Don't expect charts from me, though. I don't really like the look of them, and there's (THANKFULLY!) a lot of others shooting them, sharing them and analyzing them for me, so I can learn what's going on optically.
(This was NOT intended as a punch @ those guys doing all that fantastic scientific testing work, rather the opposite, to be clear!)

OK...

Real nice shots...

dogday, what do you think about it? ;)

Beautiful.

RED, you have created something really amazing...

Of course, one has to know how to use it.

Love that stuff! I wish we´d have as much snow as you guys got in norway. But the next winter will come and thus the feature we had to put off because of the lack of snow in the german alps :waaa: and guess what we´ll shoot with:shifty:
