Correct, it is a 480 downconvert.

If it was truly 1080p out of the HDMI, then that and the KiPro would be sweet!

I owned a EX1 & EX3 but ditched them (yup for a good price) reasons for dumping these cameras was that the compression was too great and very small controls, nice images but no guts to the pictures (4:2:0 !!) they also wouldn't stand up to hard professional work over a long period, why are people adding all these boxes on to a video camera to create an image that is still video! a donkey is a donkey a horse a horse, so dose that make a EX3 with an AJA box a mule! when scarlet will be so much better at the same price point or less.

At present shooting on DVCPRO HD or Intra100 (4:2:2) not so much compression and produces a great video picture.

I hope that DSLR cameras with video get better soon and into a better form factor. The Mk2 seems like it would be nice if it were in a EX1 Body of sorts - or an EX1 adapted to be more DSLR like.
