I need the Workflow that gives me the best quality
I m shooting some new Music Videos on RED with 4K
I have two options
1- work on these Raw files which end with _f _m _h ..etc and then reconnect to F "Full Resolution " to get the best quality ... then Export .mov 1280 * 768

2- Import the R3d files into Red-cine and export Quicktime files , then import them into FCP as quicktime files and work normally
BUT .. I heard that this reduces the quality of the Video in the stage of exporting from R3d to Quick time

Can anyone tell me what to do ? and what FCP setting I should work on ... etc
the main objective is to broadcast these Music Videos on TV

Thanx

Get Clipfinder or RedRushes. Export offline Prores files 1K Debayer, ProresLT (or SQ). Edit your Project with these offline files. Once you have picture lock, you have several options.

1. send XML to Clipfinder, conform XML to _H files, open new Clipfinder XML is FCP and send to Color, save and close Color, Open Color Project in Clipfinder and Fix Looping Bug and if you get Clipfinder 2.5 you can update Red tab in Color if you did any color tweeking that created RSX files. Color correct in Color, render and send back to FCP. Done.

2. Send XML to Clipfinder 2.5 and export to RCX, Color correct in RCX and render out your final project.

I prefer the Color method myself.

Just remember you only need to edit with low quality offline files and will conform to the super high quality files later.

Do you mean I open my footage in Red-cine and export them to Two types .. 1-High quality and 2- Low Quality Quicktime clips
... then import the Low quality quicktime into FCP and work offline
and after I finish editing I reconnect to the High quality once ??

what export settings do u prefer for both:

1-Export Settings From the Redcine ?
2- Export Settings from FCP?

I know its annoying but its my first time to deal with RED .. its actually amazing

Not sure what settings you are talking about? For the Final version of your Project? Or for the offline edit?

I don't render anything from FCP. I send to Color and render from Color 2k Prores 4444 for the final.

From RCX I would render the best quality you can, because that should be your final project.

For the offline low res stuff I render from Clipfinder and use 1k Normal Debayer and 1920x1080 works if your system can handle editing 1080p. Otherwise editing 620x480 works just fine for offline and renders much faster. Use Prores LT or SQ codec either way.

Hope that answers your question.

well I meant both Actually , tell me if Im right ... I export from RCX two versions of files a-Low quality for offline editing b- High quality to reconnect the offline edit to it ...
then I export the final output from FCP

Im not familiar with using color ...and if I have to choose between them I would rather choose RCX

Is it right what I mentioned before .. the 2 version exports I make out of RCX (High - LOW)

My question here also is ... will I export Quick time movie UNCOMPRESSED?
