I took a bunch of pictures at my brothers wedding last week and am preparing them as a wedding gift. I've got a few great ones, but i was curious if any one here with a photo background had ideas on creative ways to make some of them more expressive. Anyone here have some stellar wedding pictures using interesting post techniques?

THANKS! :)

If you shot in raw you could try some single-image HDR. That can be pretty impressive, however HDR is gimmicky when overdone.

Other than that, it depends on the particular picture. Perhaps if you post some, people will be able to suggest or try out different things.

I've never done any HDR. It doesn't seem very wedding friendly. How difficult is it?

Anyway, here, I grabbed a few pics, probably not the best of the bunch, definitely not the worst:

EDIT: the pics look less saturated, greener, and brighter in the blacks here than they do in my iPhoto. God I love computers ;)

Brandon,

You can't go wrong with a nice warm look for some of those I think. Maybe try some diffusion or blooming in the highlights as well. Just a thought.

Thanks Craig. Agreed about the warm look. I feel like I've achieved it on my computer, but now now in the browser they don't look quite as nice, which makes me nervous about how they'll look on HIS computer. effin' A.

About the diffusion, how would be the best way to apply that in either aperture or photoshop?

THANKS!

Make the bride look fantastic and everything else will be fine.

They don't look as nice in your browser because you using the wrong color space for the web. You are using Adobe RGB, for the web you need sRGB.

There are a million ways to add soft glows and diffusion in Photoshop. One way is to copy the image on a separate layer, add lens blur, change the composite setting to Soft Light and play with the opacity slider. Best advice is to experiment as it can look cheesy.
