  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I need help tracking down redusers who scammed me - Gisberg & Gisyerg Burmudez

If I'm understanding correctly the main issue is with the Red Drive breaking. It was a used product that worked when you received it then broke after a period of time. That's not a scam, it's bad luck & the seller isn't responsible for something like that in my opinion.

+1

I'm not sure there's an awful lot you can do. You bought used gear, it worked when it arrived, and later broke. I can't see how that's the seller's fault - since it was working when he sent it to you.

However, you're certainly due a refund for any items that you paid for but never received.

You should of kept the cf cards and got rid of the 1 drive. The last thing you want is to be depended on 1 drive for the whole day of shooting and then your drive fails. Also when downloading drive. You need to power it, not let the FireWire cable power it.

Sorry, I am a little confused about your concern... you bought a camera off of him, and whist it was in your possession the drive failed to operate when it originally had. Much as the battery did.

I don't think this is so much fraud, but a badly maintained kit that you got the raw end of the deal of. That happens. Additionally, you should certainly seek compensation for the items never received.

Do you have a written contract with an exchange of ID? If so, you can pursue this in court, but for a hundred bucks it hardly seems worth it.

Best of luck.

Frankly, I'm not surprised that he's ignoring you. You had the camera for 3 months and now you have buyer's remorse. Red drives are notoriously unreliable, they do fail but if it failed after you bought it, that's not the seller's concern. It's a used camera. If it worked in the first week after you bought it, then it's not a scam.
You sold your working red drive to get a battery and a 16gb cf card and you are blaming the seller for you not being able to record long enough? I really don't get your complaint.
