OK. I'm sitting here in my edit suite with some footage a client gave me a few days ago.
"Can you do me a favor?" he asked me. Silly me answering: "Yes of course"
So I'm stuck in the middle of an edit of 12 hours of some old, ooold material from the 80's and 90's which was recorded back then on VHS and later copied to DVD.
VHS from the 80's looks like ... well ... VHS from the 80's.
But the guy who did the DVD transfer should burn in hell!
He used MPEG-1 358x288 Px as the encoding codec.
That means VHS from the 80's meets MPEG-1 low bitrate quarter SD resolution.
I'm surrounded by the newest stuff.
There are several FullHD monitors and a 10ft silver screen right in front of me.
The sound comes from a 5.1 studio surround mixing system.
The studio is air conditioned
...
MPEG-1 358x288 pixel.
That's around 88(!) times less pixel then 4K and I have two more days to go!
I MISS 4K
