  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I heard a rumor about a RED One MX 1.5 "upgrade". . .

What on earth were they talking about?

I know nothing, but I thought I heard something about a yet another M-X-esque upgrade to the RED One. Does anyone know anything about this, and what it might entail?

If this is totally nonsense (and it certainly might be), please just close the thread down. I don't want to add to the spam.

nonsense asfaik.

but if you have a ssd module on the r1, you will be able to record with better compression ratios i guess.
maybe this is what u heard?

What would make sense to me is a stage 2.5, keep your red and pay for an M-X AND SSD module upgrade now to take advantage and pay $19,500 or a little more when your Epic-X is ready.

That would entice a lot more people to upgrade and keep, providing RED current sales/cash flow as they build out epics. Remember, even at 500-700 Epic-X cameras per month, most will have to wait six months to a year to get their Epic-X.

Ahhhh. . . maybe it was the SSD option. For some reason I thought it was going to be some new innards.

Thanks for clearing this up.

Stephen
