  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hey guy's,

So this is the deal, I am cutting a short film in FCP and I ingested red cam footage and transcoded it to Apple Pro Res 422 (HQ). I need to get a final cut out but Every time I perform an export QT Conversion using H.264 compression (Requested by post house) the video footage that pans side to side in the cut is jittering and shaky. The static shots look great. I have tried to export as an Apple pro res 422 and it looks fine but the quality is not as good as the H.264. Any suggestions? I need a final export by thursday! :(

I have searched for the specs that red cam mentions but with no results on all my test exports. Booger!

The Specs.

24 frames
Pro Res 244 HQ
1920x1080 ingested as
FCP is 6.0
effects and all renders function fine.

Hello,
Try rendering out a ProRes self contained master file, then using compressor to transcode it to H.264.
You will also have the added value, of having a high quality render of your film. ProRes is much higher quality than any H.264.
