  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I am thinking of getting a new EVF within budget of 2500$, what do you recommend?

I found three candidates based on "OLED" EVF that cost me around 1500-2500$ range.

1. Black magic EVF + SELF Modification $1800

2. Zacuto's OLED EVF(Either old one, or new one) 1500$-3000$

3. RED's Bomb EVF 2000(Beta tested) 3200(Normal Price) $-4200

Honestly, I am more and more going forward Zacuto's OLED EVF due to it's durability and accessibility comparing other two options...

Black Magic's case, I can only use certain cameras such as "Alexa, RED, Black magic" cameras only. I can't use it on Sony, Panasonic, canon cameras at all.
Red's case, obviously, you will only have an option to use it with Red Camera only, but on the other hand, you will deal with only one cable, instead of power and SDI cables.
Zacuto's case, I can use "Canon battery" or bring the power from Dtap as well, and I don't have to deal with modification like black magic - My hands aren't the most sophisticated hands.

Do you guys have any other recommendation here?

Thanks guys!

New Zacuto EVF Gratical Eye - great features, i think its 1900usd, has sdi and power cable only. small and good. can be used on any camera with a 2pin/dtap and sdi. good mounting options
