  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Humming Bird test w/ Canon 70-200 f/2.8 II @ 300fps

Nice! I've always wanted to shoot hummingbirds on a high-speed camera. I was under the impression that an ultra high-speed camera would be needed to capture the motion of their wingbeat properly, but after watching your video shot at 300 fps, I see that something like a WEISSCAM HS-2 capturing 1,500 fps would be more than enough.

Thanks for sharing!

Very nice. . . I did want to see it slower, though. Maybe, as Brian says, 1000 fps would be enough.

Beautiful shot Sharmaine!

...and the colors are beautiful also!

What color space and gamma did you use ?

Did you record sound using your camera or a recorder?

Amazing shot!!!

And keep in mind that with Canon’s Extender EF 1.4x III or Extender EF 2x II on Canon 70-200 F/2.8 IS II you'll get even closer very sharp shots @ f/5.6.

It seems that 300fps was no match for the Humming Bird's wings...
