Hi all,

today we shot HRX and I can toggle between the A frame and X frame and magic motion seems to work but when I try to SIMPLE BLEND it kind of freezes and I can't transcode or even playback.

any help as always much appreciated I've searched the forum and couldn't see much on this topic in RedcineX only in Da Vinci and the manual doesn't cover it.

We do shoot with a look on the camera if that helps.

Thanks in advance to everyone who takes time out their day to answer it's much appreciated

James

I don't have a full answer, but the "look" applied in camera should not affect anything in terms of the performance you are getting. If you aren't sure, you can run down the side of RedCine-X, and for every section in the top right corner, there's a small M button and a small D button. I've always presumed that M stands for Metadata and D stands for Default. Metadata being "What we saw when we hit record" and Default being "What the camera defaults to". If you run down and click all the D's, you'll remove any "look" applied. [Do note, that if you are autosaving your RMDs, this change will remain in place. But! If you later go and hit all the M's, you'll return the footage to what you saw when you hit Record, and re-update the RMD to these in-camera settings.] I'd guess that any Curve or LGG adjustments would be the most taxing, but my instinct is that they are actually just as taxing on as without.

The only exception is the stuff at the bottom, the "plugins"; stuff like Alchemy, and anything around or below it. If you're getting performance issues and trying to isolate, make sure all that stuff is turned Off while you troubleshoot.

Unfortunately, past that, I'm not much help. I've fooled around with HDRx only a little on my own, and it has never been used on any shoot I've worked on.

Hey James,

Make sure your REDCINE-X PRO software is up to date.

I remember there was an issue with simple blend and one of the early OpenCL versions of RCX-Pro. I shoot HDRx all the time and I remember running into the same issue about 2 months ago, but since it has been fixed.

Hi James,

Can you provide some more details please?
RCX build? OpenCL? CUDA? CPU? Rocket?

Thanks!
David

thanks guys I'm using RCX22 and a rocket not sure about openCL and what it does it's a late 2013 27" iMac so its open CL according to apple is 1.2
I've not updated since Jan '14 so this could be the reason based on what Burkes saying

Thanks Gunlelk I'll do the same reassuring to know it's not just me having issues.
Does this mean I have to transcode twice? Once as A frame and once as X frame or will both be carried over together?
I'm trancoding for AVID

Has this been resolved for you with our build 30 we released for NAB?

Hi Rob, I'm off for a week but when we are back shooting i will have updated and I'll give it another go and let you know thanks.

Hi all

HDR Simple blend Works on the new build of cinieX (30) Sadly there are other issues I'm having with this build so I'm only using it for HDR And using version 22 for everything else
