  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

HPX300 vs. EX3 Rolling shutter example

Probably also fair to point out that since the camera has not been released yet, things may change.

As has been suggested elsewhere, I'd also be interested to know just under what circumstances this little test was performed under. Stacking one camera on top of the other and the doing the pan with both cameras showing the same field of view would be a little more conclusive... That is, of course, assuming that isn't the case here.

I may not have done the most scientific test

I may not have done the most scientific test

I'm going to bow to Barry on this one. I think he should do a scientific test between the two cameras. I'm removing my test because he thinks I should have been more scientific about it. I agree, I only had the camera for a few hours and really just panned and tilted the two cameras without really knowing how to setup the two cameras to make it apples to apples. I can see his point. So Barry, let's see the test. Steve

Don't fret, Steve. As Barry would also point out, when it comes to doing comparisons of any kind, it often times does not matter how scientific you are, there will still be flack to catch in the end. Comes with the territory... :)

At any rate, in this particular case, I do think it is important to at least point out, but does not necessarily negate the obvious in your video. Will be interesting to see a more precise reproduction of your test though, either from you or someone else.

Later,
Jason
