Hi all,

Just configuring new Z800 Box for Adobe PP:)

Using 4 x Hitachi 2TB SATA2 HD's (Same model G-Tech use)
I am using the Raid 5 built in Intel controller

Using the AJA utility I have run the basic test and just wanted to get feedback on results.

Write 35MB/S
Read 310MB/S

This is on the higher res with a 512MB file

Does this sound right? I thought the write seemed pretty slow?

Any tips would be grand

cheers

Anyone?

I just want to know if the times sound right or not as the PC has to go into a housing so will be a pin to get out if not setup correctly.

Hire someone to properly configure your raid and your system. You might also be missing some plug-ins.
Good luck. I hear it's a nice computer.

Hi, thanks but I would much prefer to configure my own system ( I have been an engineer for 13 yrs! )

I haven't installed anything but Win7 64 and drivers.

I have a SATAIII 128GB SSD running with a Highpoint card and thats capping nicely at 140MB/S write / 280MB/S read

I know the read of the Raid is spot on at 310-320MB/S but I just need to know if that write time seems low, the raid configuration is very basic on the HP with no in-depth tweaks really, my parity is the recommended 64kb

Hopefully someone else has a Z800 and can chime in

cheers
