  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

How was this shot created?

Hi Red Family

I was curious if anyone had any ideas on how this image was created? We really like the look of this and would like to get something similar for an upcoming project

Do you feel it could be a tilt shift? or perhaps a full diopter?

Thanks

Aaron

Agree...the mounding in the center obscures the transitional area between in-focus and out-of-focus areas. But if you like that effect, you'll love lenses of the Petzval variety.

Hey Michael - I had considered the Petzval but the shot is shot much wider then 85mm http://microsites.lomography.com/petzval-lens/?gclid=CPDm86vL7McCFQqSaQodFroAsg

The bokeh in the shot I posted just seems slightly off, I was curious if it was due to a speciality lens.

Thanks for your thoughts

Aaron

I think the background ground must be actually slope on the left & right, as there are vertical trees in both top corners which aren't tilted/curved inwards, which would be the case with a lens which had a barrel/fisheye distortion.

The sunlight dappling the background adds to the shot. Someone found a really atmospheric location.
