hello friends! I live in Brazil and our project is filmmaking CHRISTIAN. I'm thinking of buying a scarlet.
could someone tell me what is a good and quick work platform with scarlet.
we will record a feature film 110 min. I have huge concern with 4k files.

I've read that some people use the samurai but not e'4k atoms. I get good results with atoms?

I need a red rocket to work with 4k?
or can I edit in a macbook pro i7?

I thank you!

I am a Reducated and 3d Reducated Scarlet owner/op/dit and am available should you have any needs for a rental/dit/techie to show you around the camera. I can offer my services and rental at a low package price if that helps you or your project. Thanks

Hey Romulo, best suggestion is rent a Scarlet system before you buy (along with the Red Station) or meet with a post production house and have them show you what they do (if they are willing).

If you're a strong editor and tech savvy, you easily know what works for you. We can say that you should get a red rocket but then again, you can end up spending over $10,000 on other things that'll make life easier like Raid towers, Da Vinci Resolve, universal power supplies, video cards, etc.

Download Redcine-X on your Macbook Pro and do some tests with 4k footage. We can't answer what works for you nor do we know your mac specs. You'll have a better answer knowing that the software is fast enough on your computer and the image playback is good enough to work with or too crappy. Also, exporting can take forever if you don't have a good system.

All the best.
