hi, i will have the opportunity to shoot a short on the red one and was wondering if there is any support right now for mac users (powermac g5, 4gb ram, 10.5.1, fcp 6) who don't have an intel based computer.
there must be some way to work with the raw data, hopefully... or even use a different file format with accepting the data loss.
if anybody knows any tricks how to solve the problem, thanks.

You have to transcode the files to Pro-res before you can Edit them on a PPC G5

thanks for the quick reply.
that sounds interesting, but how do i do that?
i.e. can i do it on my ppc g5 or do i have to get access to an intel mac? and is there any chance that there will be an emulation or another platform from thirdparty developers as it would be a pitty if i couldn't use the computer i got standing at home...

You'll definitely need an Intel Mac for transcoding, sorry.
