hello all

about to go to europe on shotting with the red.

thinking of backing up all the media we will shoot on mobile disk (hdd)
or maybe convert the files into lto tapes.

did anyone done it before?

should the airport x ray checkup can harm them in any way??

i would love to heare from your own exspriance on how to backup and mobile all the clips from a distant country.

about 12 days of shooting !!

What I would do, is I`ll send myself and insured backup copy trough Fedex or DHL, just in case!

I usualy transfer the RED data to 1tb storage hard drive. It's easier for transportation and protect the data.

I use a mirror 1 tb drive, so you get two copies of your backup in the field.

That drive never leaves my possession, and is in my carry-on when traveling.
For long shoots, I make another copy, and ship or travel that separately. Airport xrays do not hurt hard drives.

All of my Red footage is copied in three places.

thank you

thank you

thank you all
am thinking backup in 2 copies for sure.
will suggest sending one copy by fedex
