HOW TO SPEED UP EPIC S ARRIVAL

So far I've been primarily interested in Epic X. I've got one Stage 2 reservation and a Stage 3 in waiting. I see a use for three cameras lately, and am thinking more and more about the Epic S. That is, would I be better served having 2 Epic S cameras and one Epic X, or should I continue with my original plan of two Epic X's and just add one Epic S? Either way, it would be helpful to me if the Epic S program would speed up.

Maybe one way to do this would be to discontinue the Epic X program. NOT YET! I haven't got my Epic X's. And neither have a lot of other people who are waiting. So, I would like to see RED honor all Stage 2, 3, and 3.5 Red One camera owners who want to get an Epic X. After that, merge the Epic X program with the Epic M line that is going on currently. That is, Make the Stage 4 Epic X camera a handmade Epic M.

This should free up production lines so a whole new group of people waiting for Epic S and Scarlet could be served sooner.

...all pure speculation on my part, but...

My guess is that RED has spent a lot of time and money setting up the assembly facility for EPIC-X/EPIC-S. To go back to only making hand made EPIC-Ms would mean not taking full advantage of this new facility. No doubt, they're always looking at the most cost effective way to churn out a quality product. Producing only EPIC-S models might get the EPIC-S out to the masses sooner, but it would cost RED more money in the end, as churning out EPIC-X on the assembly line costs much less then hand making EPIC-Ms.

I always had the impression.. but perhaps this is speculation as well... that the EPIC-S would start to roll out when the EPIC-X Stage 2, 3, 3.5 demand is met... Maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part.
