Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
REDcine has 4K x 2k pixels, but normally, LCD monitor has only Max 2k x 1k pixels. half of its resolution.
How should we choice the post edit system to deal with these higher resolution pictures?
No matter how will you prodce, you would have a definit goal, you have to match your monitor with this resolution. otherwise, you cannt adjust piexl one by one. or deal with digital software or say by digital filter etc.
Question is how do you select post produce equipment to match this resolution?
yeah normal LCD monitor have only Max 2.5k x 1.xk pixels, so get one that do 4.5k x 2.5k. Same goes for the graphic cards.
what's the problem?
how do you select post produce equipment to match this resolution? I think you pretty much answear your own question: if you need a monitor that is minimum the resolution of your intput footage, then you need 4096x2304 pixel min res monitor. Very simple isn't it?
If you have no links to that kind of hardware, go to NAB and look around. You can also try to contact Iridas and tell them you need a "venue system" with compositing and grading options for 4K footage. They might write the software for you.
