How to render DPX from FCP QT ref edit?

I have an edit in Final Cut Pro (7) with QT ref files (referencing R3Ds) that I'd like to export as a DPX sequence to key in After Effects (CS3) using ClipFinder (or REDrushes if possible).

When I export an XML from FCP and import the XML into ClipFinder, it brings in the R3D files that my edit is referencing in their entirety (as opposed to only the cuts from my edit decisions made in FCP). How can I render out of ClipFinder while retaining my edit from the FCP XML?

Going a step further, I see that using the FCP conform function in ClipFinder (2.1), I can use the FCP XML, point to the renders that I've exported from ClipFinder (based from the R3Ds referenced in the FCP XML), and create a new XML for FCP. I've been able to successfully do this only when rendering out of ClipFinder with QTs, not DPX sequences.

How can I use ClipFinder or REDrushes to produce a DPX sequence of the exact edit I have in FCP?

Thank You

Doing a DPX render of you exact edit is tricky. The easiest (And most expensive) way would be to buy Monkey Extract. Or buy Crimson Workflow.

If you're dead-set (or budget constrained), you *can* render just your edit with Clipfinder. Use the "Import Subclips from FCP XML" menu entry instead of "Import Clips". That will bring in just the used sections of the media.
