Hi ,

i have encoded a bunch of clips with timecode burnt in.

now the clients do not want the time code and asked for only the prores converted files.

is there a way to only remove the timecode from the encoded prores clips using redcine ?

thanks,
Aaranyan

nope, you've burnt it in, therefore you need to encode once again but this time without burning timecode in

If you are talking about the time code metadata from a QuickTime file, I believe the older QuickTime Pro could do this. Not the new QuickTimeX.

I think he's talking about on the image itself, though, as an overlay.

You've replaced pixels with other pixels. As in, what was part of the image, is now pixels that we read as text. There's no "underneath". It's only one layer of video.

Solution: Re-transcode from the source R3Ds.

Good advice above. It's always important to distinguish between embedded timecode (invisible metadata) and visible timecode (seen as numbers in the video frame). Very different. It's possible to have one or the other or both or neither.
