How to mount your R1 with bottom plate to a manfrotto 509hd?

Hi,

Bit of a noob question here, but how do you put the R1 on a tripod (Manfrotto 509hd) once you have installed the Red Bottom Plate?
What other accessory is required?

usually the shoulder dove tail goes into the bottom plate but that will be a little wobbly so the best is to get a custom spacer to get a flat base to put the tripod plate ... got mine made out of aluminum. not sure if there is a Red solution.

thanks for your replies. i think my question was not well phrased. what i am looking for is a way to quickly toggle between the shoulder dovetail and tripod use. so a way to have a system including a quick release mechanism somewhere.

Actually if you set the quick release plate on the 509 to just the right position on the shoulder dovetail, your problem is solved. Just release the plate from the head and throw the camera on your shoulder. I guess that's sort of what RED designed their shoulder dovetail to do
