I plan to rent an epic to shoot a music video. I want to know the best way to create an edit to send to a colorist...? The person who is going to color said to import the r3d's directly into premiere on a 1080 timeline no conversion(still 5k footage).... I pretty much want to know what to do once I have the red mags with footage from camera? do i need to convert in redcine? I am using a newer imac 3.4ghz i7 8gb memory and premiere. I can get access to a red rocket card but if not necessary that would be cool.

If you are handing him a premiere timeline to color grade then you don't need to do anything. Everything is native in Adobe. You don't need to convert anything and no need for Redcine.

awesome thank you! figured he was correct just wanted to make sure
