Hi everyone, I tried to import some files into premiere but I always have an error message. Did you install something else?

by the way, my scarlet arrives in a couple of days by now !

Hello -- Not sure about this, but the Mac files I downloaded via the link were dated May of 2011. The files in my Mac versions of AE & the other apps were dated Feb of 2012. I backed out of 'updating' to the older modules in the 'preview' download because it just didn't seem right. Also, the Adobe dissections said I'd get a warning that I was replacing OLDER files with NEWER ones. Instead, of course, I got a warning that I was replacing NEWER files with OLDER ones. Luckily, I had done as told & had made backups of the originals & I think I got everything back in place.

Do we really want to go back to the May 2011 files if you have Feb 2012 ones in place ??

FWIW -
Serge

They were written Feb 2012 (probably when you installed CS5.5 or when you updated CS5.5 to 5.5.2 (or whatever the latest version is.)) Bare in mind you're only swapping out the RED import files, and they're the only items that are being updated...

...So, yes, you want to swap them out for the newer (albeit dated older) ones.

Hello again -- Thanks for the encouragement to replace 'newer' files with 'older' ones in the update package. As counterintuitive as it is, and even though the step-by-step Adobe instructions say you will see an alert: 'replace an older file with a newer file' -- while you actually see the opposite alert: ('replace a newer file with an older file') ... it seems to work. Before, I couldn't directly open a .R3D file in Premier 5.5.2 on the Mac. And after applying the updates, now I can.

Thanks -
Serge
