Hi guys! Yesterday watched very nice movie "The Dreamers" (2003)... I love the colours of this picture... Do you have some ideas how to get the look like "the dreamers" movie.. Maybe some glass filters when the video shoots? Or maybe it is possible to do the same with some software filters plugin?

From the screenshot it seems like a big component of the look is actually going to come from set design / wardrobe. Check out the colors and patterns on the bed, clothing and room. You can portray the 1960's in any "color" but the little details are what makes it sell. And yes, 60's glass would help. Anamorphic would really do the trick for me.

I agree with Michael, the color pallet of the production is a HUGE part of this look.
The lighting leans towards the higher key look of the time with plenty of dynamic range. They probably had a lot of light pouring into this scene with a slower film stock.
As far as matching the stock flavor, It looks like there's some yellow in the toe and the blacks are kept slightly milky (much of this could be from where you took the picture).

  1. The right locations.
  2. Props, set and costume design.
  3. Lenses, lighting, etc.
  4. Grading.

Exactly right. The set design, costumes and location are everything in this. Then the lenses and their texture will help. Vintage glass there will sell the period well. No sharp biting contrast and cleanliness. Blooming highlights and slightly pale colors. And then the grade. Which hopefully merely augments what the old glass is capturing...(which is hopefully wonderfully art-directed 60's magic).
